- Existing owners can upgrade to this warranty for Rs 3,400
Kia has announced a lifetime battery warranty for the new Carens Clavis EV. Earlier, the brand announced the same warranty for the Syros EV.
As per the new lifetime battery warranty, customers get coverage on their battery life for up to 15 years or unlimited kilometres. This makes owning a Carens Clavis EV hassle-free for private buyers. Additionally, existing customers can upgrade to the lifetime battery warranty by paying Rs 3,400.
Meanwhile, for commercial and fleet owners, the battery warranty remains limited to 8 years or 1,60,000 km, whichever is achieved first. The new lifetime warranty scheme is valid for all Carens Clavis EV purchases on or after August 1, 2026.
Along with the lifetime battery warranty scheme, Kia is also offering a Battery-as-a-service (BaaS) option for new customers, which reduces the upfront buying cost of the electric MPV substantially. Kia is also developing its own fast-charging network pan-India, called K-Charge, with over 20,000 fast-charging points.
Kia offers two battery pack options for the Carens Clavis EV. These include a 45 kWh front-wheel-drive motor that makes 135 bhp and offers up to 404 km of range. Meanwhile, a bigger 51.4 kWh battery pack offers 171 bhp and up to 490 km of range. Both variants offer 225 Nm of peak torque.
Kia offers the Carens Clavis EV in six-seater and seven-seater configuration options. The interior of the electric MPV packs a dual-screen display with 12.3-inch screens for the driver console and infotainment console. Features include wireless charging, front seats with electric adjustment and ventilation, reclining rear seats, a dual-zone AC, Level 2 ADAS, and more.
