Key highlights
- TVS Raider 125 crosses 19 lakh sales milestone since launch
- Sporty styling, strong features and peppy performance drive its popularity
- Raider has become one of India’s most successful premium commuter motorcycles
When TVS Motor Company launched the TVS Raider 125 back in 2021, it didn’t look like a typical commuter motorcycle. Instead of building another safe, forgettable 125cc bike, TVS gave the Raider sharp styling, modern features, a lively engine and just enough attitude to make younger buyers pay attention.
The company has now announced that the Raider 125 has crossed the 19 lakh sales milestone globally since launch.
What makes it different?
While most 125cc motorcycles focused purely on mileage and practicality, the Raider arrived with aggressive styling inspired by larger streetfighters. The LED headlamp, sculpted fuel tank, split-seat setup and sporty graphics immediately helped it stand out.
For younger buyers, especially first-time motorcycle owners, that mattered. Because nobody dreams about owning “a practical commuter.” People want something that feels exciting, even if it’s mainly used for office runs and grocery trips.
Performance
The Raider’s 124.8cc single-cylinder engine struck a sweet balance between efficiency and fun. The motor puts our decent power of 11.4 hp and 11.2 Nm of peak torque. This is mated to a slick 5-speed transmission. The Raider also gets two riding modes namely, Eco and Power.
Features
The Raider didn’t just compete on design. It packed features that were rare in the segment when it launched. TVS Raider 125 key features include LED headlamps, TFT display, Bluetooth, Voice Assist, etc.
Comfortable enough for daily use
Despite the sporty styling, the Raider never compromised on comfort. The riding posture is upright, the seat is roomy, and the suspension setup handles rough roads reasonably well. That balance made it appealing to a wide audience. College students liked the styling. Office commuters liked the mileage.
Pricing
The Raider entered the market with aggressive pricing and managed to undercut some rivals while offering more equipment. Currently, it is priced at INR 82,860 to INR 85,344 (ex-showroom) for the base drum variant and goes up to approximately INR 98,550 to INR 99,081 (ex-showroom) for the top-end TFT screen or SXC variants That value equation gave it serious momentum.
TVS positioned it perfectly for first-time motorcycle owners. New variants and updates kept the Raider fresh instead of letting it fade into the background.
