Hyundai’s upcoming Bayon-based compact SUV has been spotted yet again, testing in the final phase of development. The latest spy images have revealed the production-spec interior design and features of this upcoming SUV, which is scheduled to launch in India by the festive season this year.
Hyundai Bayon-based SUV: Interior details
The golden-bronze-coloured test car was seen with camouflage recently. However, the important bit is the interior design that was revealed in the new photos. What we can spot is a dual-tone cabin theme with a light greyish colour combined with a dark grey colour. Moreover, the test car appears to be in the final stage, as it is seen loaded with production-spec equipment.
There is a lot of similarity between this crossover SUV and the new-gen Venue. For example, it has the same leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel with physical control buttons for MID, infotainment, and cruise control as the Venue. Moreover, the dashboard has a dual-screen display that has a similar UI as the Venue.
Along with these, we can spot the door card design that has a dual-tone theme and an oval-shaped door handle. The latter was earlier spotted on the upcoming next-gen Hyundai Creta’s test mule and the new-gen i20 in Brazil. We believe that this is Hyundai’s new design philosophy, which is expected to be used on upcoming models.
With that said, this new crossover SUV will be based on the international Bayon model. The Bayon is a popular crossover internationally, and Hyundai will tailor its platform for more space and tune it as per Indian market requirements.
Technically, Hyundai is expected to position it between the Venue and Creta. It can be a good alternative for Creta buyers who are looking for more interior comfort. Powertrains on this model are likely to be shared with the new Venue. A CNG engine could also be introduced in the future to boost demand.
Hyundai has planned to launch this new SUV, which is codenamed Bc4i, by this Diwali festival in November. It is likely to be priced around Rs 9-15 lakh.
