Upcoming VinFast electric scooter design patented in India

Key highlights

  • New VinFast electric scooter patented
  • Features a street-styled handle and 14-inch rims
  • Could be offered as an affordable model

Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast is gearing up to launch its electric scooters in India. The EV maker has already registered multiple global electric scooter models like Viper, Feliz, and Evo, which are soon going to launch in the Indian market.

Along with the global models, VinFast is also developing new tailor-made electric scooters for India. The design patent of one such scooter has leaked online, showing an interesting styling with street-oriented features.

What to expect from the VinFast electric scooter?

As visible in the design patent image, this unnamed scooter boasts a unique styling. Its facia boasts a clean and vertical apron with a low-mounted big LED headlight and a naked handle design without any cowl or cover for the instrument console.

This electric scooter is clearly inspired by the brand’s other scooters, as it features the big 14-inch wheels (assumption), and a tall profile. The big single seat and a generous floorboard area solidify that it will be a family-centric model.

Further, its hardware includes the RSU telescopic front forks, dual shock absorbers, and a front disc brake setup. The hardware is also not very premium, which makes us believe that this scooter is likely going to slot against the rivals like Ather Rizta and TVS iQube.

The powertrain details are unknown, but we can see that it gets a hub-mounted motor. The battery is likely to be placed underneath the floorboard area.

In terms of the features that are visible in the design patent, it will offer a street-styled handle design with a minimalist console. There is a floating-type screen, which is likel to be an LCD to save costs.

More details will be revealed about this scooter and other VinFast scooters in the coming weeks as the brand plans to launch its model range soon.
