VinFast extends Free Charging till March 2029 on the V-Green network

Key highlights

  • Free charging on V-Green network extended till March 2029
  • Charging ecosystem expanding via HPCL fuel stations and key partnerships
  • India rollout still in growth phase but scaling quickly

VinFast has doubled down on its EV push by extending free charging on its V-Green network till March 2029. On paper, it sounds like a sweet deal.

Is the network ready?

The free charging benefit applies across VinFast’s V-Green ecosystem. This covers both existing and new customers and is designed to cut running costs almost entirely for early adopters.

But here’s the thing. Free charging only works if the chargers actually exist where you need them. So, what’s the current status of V-Green in India?

Right now, the V-Green network in India is in expansion mode rather than full maturity. But the intent is clear, and the groundwork is already visible.

VinFast’s charging arm has tied up with major partners to fast-track infrastructure rollout.

  • It has partnered with RoadGrid to build charging and service infrastructure across key markets in India.
  • The plan includes setting up around 120 service workshops that will also support EV ecosystem growth.
  • More importantly, V-Green has joined hands with Hindustan Petroleum to install chargers at fuel stations across the country.

That last bit is crucial. HPCL has a massive nationwide network of fuel pumps. Plugging EV chargers into those locations instantly solves accessibility in a big way.

Where you’ll likely see these chargers

The rollout strategy is pretty straightforward. V-Green is focusing on:

  • Urban clusters and metro cities
  • Highways and intercity routes
  • Fuel stations, malls, offices, and parking hubs

The idea is not to reinvent infrastructure but to piggyback on existing, high-footfall locations. Still early days, but momentum is strong

Let’s be honest. This is not a fully built-out network yet. You won’t see chargers on every corner tomorrow. But VinFast is moving quickly. The brand is expanding dealerships, service centres, and charging infrastructure in parallel.
