VinFast VF8 patented: Everything we know so far

The latest VF8’s design patent in India shows that the brand is serious about bringing its premium range, and the next big launch could be the VF8 crossover itself. Mind you, the design patent is of the latest VF8 facelift, which was recently introduced in Vietnam.

While the design patent looks similar to the global-spec model, the only noticeable change is the new dual-tone alloy wheel design. This could be India-specific, especially considering that the Indian-spec cars require a tall sidewall for a comfortable ride and to tackle the potholes.

On the other hand, the VF8 features a sharp design with chiselled body panels and a sloping bonnet. The front fascia is all-new, and it packs the connected LED lights and an illuminated ‘V’ logo. There are vertical air dams on the lower part of the front bumper, while the front grille merges into a sharp black panel with air vents and a skid plate.

The side profile of the VF8 looks more sporty, especially due to its sloping roofline. At the back, it gets a roof-integrated spoiler, a set of connected LED taillights, and a sporty bumper design.

With that said about its design, the VF8 packs a 60.13 kWh battery in Vietnam. This is mated to a front-wheel single motor that produces 228 bhp and 330 Nm. As per the NEDC cycle, the VF8 offers 500 km range.

The interior of the global model is also upmarket and tech-loaded. It gets a big floating infotainment screen, premium leather upholstery, an augmented reality HUD, wireless charging, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electric tailgate, ambient lights, and more.
