2026 Mahindra Thar facelift: What to expect?

New Mahindra Thar Facelift

The new spy shots of the Thar facelift show a red-coloured production-ready model up close. While the changes will not be radical, Mahindra is likely to offer new visual elements inspired by the Thar Roxx. One such immediate change to notice is the Roxx-inspired new dual-tone alloy wheels with a star-like shape.

While the spy shots could not capture their exact profile, we believe that these are most likely to be 19 inches. The bigger rim might reduce the off-road quotient to an extent, but it will make Thar more appealing, which is one of the primary reasons customers buy Thar. The spied test car also gets the covered body claddings and front profile, hinting at a new fascia, most likely featuring a new grille, new LED headlights, and a new front bumper.

Mahindra could also introduce new colours to the Thar facelift. The rear design will most likely remain unchanged, save for the new LED taillights. Meanwhile, the interior design is likely to feature an updated digital instrument console, a new infotainment screen, wireless connectivity, an updated audio system, and probably redesigned seats for more comfort.

Sadly, the facelifted Thar 3-Door will not get an ADAS. However, it could get the new 540-degree surround view from the Scorpio N facelift, which will be beneficial during parking or tackling the narrow off-road sections. With that said, the off-road SUV will continue with its current engine options, which will include a 1.5-litre diesel, a 2.2-litre diesel, and a 2.0-litre petrol engine. There will be options for 2WD and 4WD along the manual and automatic gearbox choice.
