Royal Enfield has given a minor update to its cafe racer motorcycle, the Continental GT 650. The latest update brings with it new features and visual enhancements via the new contrasting colours for the mechanical components.
What is new on the 2026 Royal Enfield Continental GT 650?
The updated Continental GT 650 now features a black-coloured engine crankcase and matte black alloy wheels on the Rocker Red variant, similar to the Apex Grey colour. Moreover, the Rocker Red variant also features black exhaust cans.
Additionally, all variants of the new Continental GT 650 will now come equipped with a black windscreen, which matches the aesthetics of the cafe racer more. The company has also added a Type-C USB charging port for mobile phone or action camera charging, along with the new oval LED turn signal indicators.
With that said, the rest of the variants and the motorcycle remain unchanged. For customers willing to purchase the spoked-wheel variant, Royal Enfield has British Green and Mr Clean variants. Meanwhile, the Rocker Red and Apex Grey come equipped with the 17-inch alloy wheels and tubeless tyres.
Powering the Continental GT is the same 648cc parallel-twin air/oil-cooled engine as before. This engine offers strong low-end and mid-range performance, as it develops 47 bhp and 52 Nm of power and torque, respectively. This powertrain is mated to a six-speed gearbox with a slipper clutch.
750cc Continental GT in works
Royal Enfield is also working on a new 750cc platform. This platform will be an extension of the current 648cc engine, and it will debut later this year at EICMA 2026 on the new Himalayan 750.
Previously sighted test mules of the Continental GT hint that the next big update for the bike will be a 750cc engine. This engine is likely to add more grunt and refinement.
As of now, its launch timeline is unknown. Online rumours suggest that the Continental GT 750 could be revealed at EICMA 2027 next year in Italy.
