Mahindra is soon going to introduce a new middle variant for the BE 6 and the XEV 9e SUVs. The new 70 kWh battery pack is likely to be carried by the new XEV 9S. Read below for more details.

Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e 70 kWh battery pack details
Mahindra has recently introduced a new 70 kWh battery pack on the XEV 9S. While the XEV 9S is based on the XEV 9e and the BE 6’s INGLO platform, it is being rumoured that both of the SUVs will also get this new option.
Currently, BE 6 and the XEV 9e are offered with two battery options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh. Whilst the top-spec is too costly for some, the need for more power and range is evident on the low-range models. Therefore, the new 70 kWh option will sit perfectly in the middle of these EVs.
Moreover, the 70 kWh battery pack offers 241 bhp/380 Nm, which is near to the top-spec’s 281 bhp. Additionally, it gets an ARAI-claimed range of 600 km, which makes it further more practical than the 59 kWh variant that offers 521 km range.
Mahindra is yet to confirm the details of the new battery pack on both e SUVs, but we suspect that the price of the respective variants for both models will be at least Rs 2-3 lakh cheaper than the top-spec variants.
