The 390 Adventure lineup in India is now expanded to three variants as the Austrian brand has added the 390 Adventure R to the portfolio. Launched at Rs 3.78 lakh (ex-showroom), the Adventure R is Rs 19,000 more affordable than the top-spec Adventure X.
Speaking of the changes, it gets a higher-spec WP Apex suspension. The front forks now offer 230 mm travel, while the rear monoshock offers up to 205 mm travel. This makes the Adventure R more suited for the off-road and trail rides than the other variants.
Furthermore, the 390 Adventure R gets the tube-type spoke wheels, which offer more durability for the rough riding and off-road use. The front wheel is 21-inch while the rear is an 18-inch, both with adjustable spokes, and are wrapped with the Mitas block-pattern AT tyres. While this setup looks less friendly for the touring fanatics, it is far more durable and easy to repair, which is an essential need for off-roading.
Due to the increased suspension, the seat height has risen to 870 mm, while the ground clearance is now up to 272 mm. However, these changes make the 390 Adventure R less friendly for city use and short riders.
Apart from these technical changes, the rest of the motorcycle is similar to the other variants. It continues to offer the same set of features and the same engine specifications. The bookings are now open for the 390 Adventure R, and the deliveries are expected to commence soon.
