What to expect from the BMW F 450 GS?

BMW F 450 GS

Showcased to the world last year, the F 450 GS is going to be the most affordable BMW adventure motorcycle in India. It is based on a new platform and its design is inspired by the bigger GS models like the GS1300.

The spied test mule looks similar to the production prototype showcased at the EICMA 2025. However, it will be offered in multiple variants, and the particular one seen here is the base model with the 17-inch alloy wheels.

Powering the F 450 GS is an all-new 450cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that makes 48 bhp and 43 Nm. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with slipper-assist clutch.

The top-spec variant of the F 450 GS will come loaded with LED lights, projector headlight, 6.5-inch TFT console with Google Maps integration, ride modes, traction control, cornering ABS, cruiser control, and even heated grips.

What to expect from the Norton Atlas GT?

On the other hand, TVS has acquired the Norton nameplate, and it is planning to introduce new models, one of which includes the Atlas adventure motorcycle seen in the spy shots. The Atlas GT and Atlas were shown to the world at the EICMA 2025, and it is suspected to debut later this year.

The test bike seen here is the road-specific GT variant loaded with 17-inch alloy wheels. Although it is covered with camouflage, it gets a wraparound cowl and sharp LED headlights with a tall windscreen.

Norton Atlast will be powered by a 585cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled motor that will offer around 70 bhp of peak power. It boasts a comfortable riding posture, and its quality will be top-notch as its competitors include brands like Triumph Tiger Sport 660.

On the electronics and feature front, it will also get a big TFT screen with smartphone compatibility and features like a six-axis IMU, cruise control, cornering ABS, power modes, traction modes, and more.

Launch time and price expectations

Both motorcycles are scheduled to be introduced in India later this year. The BMW F 450 GS could be launched before Diwali 2026, while the Norton will follow it after a few weeks.

Since both models will be sold under different nameplates, the price expectations are high. The BMW is likely to be positioned around Rs 4.5-5.5 lakh, while the Norton could be positioned around Rs 5-6 lakh.
