Classic Legends to launch a new motorcycle on April 23

Key highlights

  • Classic Legends confirms new motorcycle launch on April 23
  • Could be updated Yezdi Scrambler or all-new BSA Scrambler 650
  • Possibility of both models debuting together

Classic Legends will launch a new motorcycle on April 23. They have not confirmed what it is. But all signs point towards a scrambler. Now here is where it gets interesting. This could either be an updated Yezdi Scrambler, a BSA Scrambler 650, or if Classic Legends is feeling generous, both.

Yezdi Scrambler is due for a proper update

The current Yezdi Scrambler has been around for a while without any major changes. Meanwhile, the Roadster and Adventure have already received updates. That leaves the Scrambler as the odd one out.

Reports from last year suggested a substantial update is in the works. Expect weight reduction, refinement, and possibly better rideability. These were areas where the current bike needed improvement.

If this is the bike launching on April 23, it will likely be a meaningful refresh, not just a cosmetic tweak.

BSA Scrambler 650 could finally arrive

The second possibility is far more exciting. The BSA Scrambler 650, which was unveiled in the UK last year, could make its India debut. This bike is based on the Gold Star 650 but takes a more rugged approach. It gets a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup, along with longer suspension travel.

In simple terms, it looks ready to leave the tarmac once in a while. Under the tank sits the same 652cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine. It produces around 45 hp and 55 Nm, paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

Pricing

In the UK, the Scrambler 650 carries a small premium over the Gold Star. So if it launches in India, expect it to sit slightly above the BSA Gold Star 650, which is currently priced between Rs 3.22 lakh and Rs 3.46 lakh.

A difference of around Rs 40,000 to Rs 50,000 feels realistic. That would keep it competitive while offering something visually and mechanically distinct.

There is also a third possibility. Classic Legends could launch both motorcycles at the same event. That would make sense from a strategy point of view. Yezdi gets an update to stay relevant, while BSA expands its portfolio in India.
