Ather Energy is working on its upcoming EL platform that is going to house the new era of affordable electric scooters with high efficiency and advanced features. The first scooter based on the EL platform has been recently spotted during a test run. Check out what to expect from it below.

What to expect from the upcoming Ather EL01?
The upcoming Ather EL platform was showcased to the world last year. The EL platform, which is designed for a range of affordable electric two-wheelers, is soon going to house the first production model, which is likely to be called EL01.
The upcoming EL01 scooter was recently spotted with full camouflage and being ridden with a full load of the rider and a pillion. The front of the test mule had a similar design to the EL concept model. It had a C-shaped wraparound LED DRL and an LED headlamp positioned on the top cowl.
Meanwhile, the prototype scooter seen here is equipped with basic hardware like the telescopic front forks, a single rear shock absorber, drum brakes, further solidifying the fact that it will be an affordable offering – possibly the most affordable scooter of the company when launched.
With “affordable”, the EL01 will not lose any of the modern bits. Features like the TFT screen, smartphone connectivity, keyless start, and more will be offered on the range-topping version for sure.
As of now, we do not know which battery or motor will power it. But, we can certainly assume that it will carry forward the lower-spec hardware from the Rizta, thus offering a range of around 100 km or more in real-world conditions.
The exact launch timeline of the EL01 is known, but we anticipate that it will be launched by the end of this year. With the lower-spec hardware, we believe that it could be priced below Rs 1 lakh.
