Updated exterior design
As seen in the teaser video, the light-blue Sierra EV is seen juggling through the Tel Moreeb Desert dunes in the UAE. The exterior styling is completely revealed in this trailer, and as expected, the electric Sierra looks derived from the ICE version, save for a few changes.
The major noticeable change is on the front, where the Sierra EV gets a closed grille design, which is typical of EVs. The new fascia gets an LED light band that connects the twin LED daytime running lights, while the new bumper boasts a large black portion with aero dams and LED headlights. The twin silver garnishing elements on the front bumper are identical to the ICE version.
The side profile is cleaner, as it continues with its unique rear-quarter design, flush door handles, a black strip running across the running board and over the wheel arches, and a muscular beltline. The biggest change here is the new aerodynamic dual-tone alloy wheel design. Meanwhile, the rear design remains unaltered, save for the new ‘Sierra EV’ badging.
Interior design and features
Although the interior design and features are yet to be revealed, we can safely assume the cabin will look similar to its ICE version. The Sierra EV will offer a spacious cabin with features like a triple screen display, 3D HUD, cabin ambient LED lights, a dual-zone automatic climate control, Harman Kardon sound system, AI-assisted voice commands, electric tailgate, wireless charging, and more. The safety features will include the Level 2 ADAS suite, offering adaptive cruise control, 540-degree view, auto emergency braking, rear-cross traffic alert, high-beam assist, etc.
Battery specifications and range
The Sierra EV will be based on the Tata’s acti.ev+ platform, which is also used on the Harrier EV. Therefore, it will possibly use the same battery options as the Harrier EV, which includes a 65 kWh and a 75 kWh option. The maximum range could exceed 500 km on a full charge, while the range-topping variants will get an option of ‘QWD’, or an all-wheel drive option similar to the Harrier EV.
Launch date and price
The Sierra EV will be introduced on June 30 in India, and it will be positioned between the Curvv EV and the Harrier EV. The expected launch price of the Sierra EV is Rs 18-25 lakh.
