Exterior design
Nissan has taken the cover off the new Tekton today. The Tekton is a badge-engineered Renault Duster, which shares a different styling and interior theme. The new Tekton gets exterior styling tweaks that are inspired by the Patrol SUV.
The front design gets the sharp daytime running LED lights with a connected LED light band, a new front bumper, and silver accents. The side profile of the Tekton is largely similar to the Duster, save for the new colour options and the new dual-tone alloy wheels.
Nissan is offering 11 exterior colours on the Tekton, which include 6 monotone and 5 dual-tone colours. The rear design packs a streamlined bumper, Nissan lettering, and a set of connected LED taillights. Overall, the Tekton does resemble the Renault Duster, but it is easily distinguishable.
Interior and features
On the inside, the new Tekton SUV packs a similar interior layout to the Duster. However, the new Nissan steering wheel and dual-tone burgundy theme make it different from the Duster. The Tekton comes loaded with the dual-screen setup with Google built-in, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, terrain modes, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, electronic parking brake, and more.
Safety features
Safety features of the Tekton include the Level 2 ADAS: adaptive cruise control, 360-degree view, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian collision avoidance, lane keep assist, lane change assist, blind spot monitoring, and more.
Engine options
Powering the Tekton are two engine options as follows:
- 1.0-litre, three-cylinder, turbo-petrol, 100 PS and 166 Nm, 6-speed manual gearbox, 19.4 km/l mileage
- 1.3-litre T280, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol, 163 PS and 280 Nm, 6-speed manual and 6-speed DCT wet-clutch automatic gearbox options, 17.8 km/l (manual) and 18.5 km/l (automatic) mileage
These engine options are shared with the Renault Duster. However, to keep the market benefit, Renault has not shared the Hybrid engine with Nissan. Therefore, the Tekton will not get the 1.8-litre hybrid engine that the Duster is set to debut with around the festive season later this year.
