The Yezdi Adventure is set to receive tubeless spoke wheels, addressing one of the shortcomings of its current setup.
The Adventure currently uses 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels with tube-type tyres. While this combination is perfectly capable of handling broken roads and light trails, a puncture in the middle of nowhere is exactly the sort of adventure most riders would rather avoid.
Why tubeless spoke wheels matter
Spoke wheels make plenty of sense on an adventure motorcycle. They can take the sort of impacts that would leave an alloy wheel looking rather unhappy, which is particularly useful when the road decides to stop being a road.
With a conventional tube-type setup, fixing a puncture generally means removing the wheel, taking the tyre off and repairing or replacing the tube. It isn’t impossible, but it isn’t exactly something you want to be doing beside a mountain trail while it is getting dark.
Tubeless tyres are considerably easier to deal with. A small puncture can often be plugged without removing the wheel, allowing the rider to get back on the road relatively quickly.
The wheel sizes should stay the same
The Yezdi Adventure’s existing setup consists of a 21-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheel combination. These are fairly conventional dimensions for an ADV and are intended to balance stability on the highway with the ability to deal with rougher terrain.
The motorcycle also has 220mm of ground clearance, while suspension duties are handled by a 41mm telescopic fork and a preload-adjustable rear monoshock.
So, this isn’t about turning the Adventure into a more hardcore off-roader overnight. Instead, Yezdi is improving an aspect of the motorcycle that affects everyday ownership.
No major mechanical changes expected
The tubeless wheel update doesn’t appear to bring any significant changes to the motorcycle’s core mechanical package.
The Yezdi Adventure continues with its 334cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine, producing 29.6hp and 29.8Nm and paired with a six-speed gearbox. The motorcycle also has a 15.5-litre fuel tank and weighs 187kg.
The current motorcycle is priced at around ₹1.98 lakh-₹2.04 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on the variant.
