Volkswagen has rolled out a new special edition of the Virtus sedan, called the Anniversary Edition. The new special edition is limited to 150 units only, and its pre-bookings have commenced across the nation.
The new Anniversary Edition is a special colour update, which offers a mix of the new Avocado Pearl shade that is matched with the contrasting black-coloured roof, front grille, bumper inserts, and black alloy wheels. The interior design is unaltered, but customers can choose optional accessories that include a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, and puddle lamps – all fitted at dealer level.
The Anniversary Edition Virtus is based on the range-topping GT Plus Sport trim, and it is priced at Rs 19.20 lakh (ex-showroom). The limited-run sedan comes only with the 1.5-litre TSI turbo petrol engine, which is paired to the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox.
Mind you, Volkswagen has been working on the Virtus facelift, and it is rumoured to be introduced in the Indian market by later 2026. Hence, this new special edition could be a farewell to the first iteration of the Virtus, which changed the notion about the dying segment of C-sedans.
A similar strategy is being followed by Skoda India, which launched the limited Shimla Green colour for the Slavia sedan, a car that is essentially similar to the Virtus. The Slavia is also set to receive a facelift later this month, and Skoda is offering the Shimla Green colour as a tribute to its loyal customers who has kept the brand going in the Indian market.
With that said, the new Virtus facelift will most likely receive new cosmetic changes that will include the new LED lights, new bumpers, new alloys, and new interior features like a bigger infotainment screen, a new digital instrument console, wireless charging, and more.
