Mahindra is soon going to give a mild makeover to the Thar 3-door version. The upcoming facelifted model has been taking rounds on the roads for a long time now. The latest test mule was spotted with the new updates just weeks ahead of the launch of the new model.
As visible in the spy shots, the updated Thar 3-door facelift will feature cosmetic tweaks that are likely to be inspired by the Thar Roxx. The front design now gets a new front grille with a vertically slatted design. Additionally, the headlights have been upgraded to the projector LED setup seen on the Roxx. Mahindra has also made mild changes to the front bumper with the new fog light housings.
Following a similar fashion, the rear design is likely to get a mildly redesigned rear bumper, a set of new LED taillights with a C-shaped pattern, and a new alloy wheel design pattern with a dual-tone finish. Apart from these changes, the exterior details are likely to retain the original shape of the current model.
On the inside, the Thar facelift will feature the fully digital instrument console similar to the Thar Roxx. Additionally, the central infotainment screen will be upgraded in size and user interface, with more wireless features and an upgraded sound system. Mahindra is also likely to add more comfort and convenience features like wireless charging, electric driver seat adjustment, etc.
Since this will be a mild mid-life update, the Thar facelift will continue offering the current 2.2-litre turbo diesel and the 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine options. Both of these engine options will come paired with the 6-speed manual and automatic gearbox. The 4WD drivetrain will also be offered as standard, while an RWD variant is also likely to be offered as an affordable option.
The new Thar facelift is likely to be launched by Diwali, and it is expected to be priced in a similar ballpark as the current model.
