Royal Enfield’s exclusive 125th Anniversary Edition Hypershift Classic 650 has sold out in India in less than six minutes. The company had allocated just 125 units for the Indian market, and all of them were booked within 360 seconds of the sale opening.
The limited-edition motorcycle celebrates Royal Enfield’s 125 years of motorcycling heritage. Globally, production is restricted to 125 units per key region, making it a particularly exclusive version of the Classic 650.
What makes the Hypershift edition special?
The biggest talking point is its bespoke Hypershift paint finish, which changes between shades of red, green and gold depending on how light falls on the motorcycle. The finish has a brass base, paying homage to Royal Enfield’s early motorcycles dating back to 1901.
The special edition also gets a gilded 125-year crest, exclusive side-panel badging and hand-painted pinstripes. It retains the Classic 650’s signature teardrop-shaped fuel tank and nacelle-mounted headlamp, while the overall design remains familiar.
No mechanical changes to the Classic 650
Underneath the special finish, the Hypershift edition retains the standard Classic 650’s 648 cc parallel-twin engine. It produces 47 hp and 52.3 Nm and is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
The motorcycle is built around a steel tubular spine frame, with a 43mm telescopic fork at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is handled by disc brakes at both ends, with dual-channel ABS.
The anniversary edition was priced at Rs 4,25,589 (ex-showroom), making it more expensive than the regular Classic 650 variants. The premium is largely for its exclusive paintwork and commemorative detailing rather than any mechanical upgrades.
Deliveries to begin in November
Royal Enfield has confirmed that deliveries of the 125th Anniversary Edition Hypershift Classic 650 in India will commence from November 2026 onwards. With all 125 units already accounted for, prospective buyers who missed the sale will have to look at the regular Classic 650 range instead.
