Hyundai Motor India has introduced a new Bluelink Remote Immobiliser feature for the Venue and Venue N Line, adding an extra layer of protection against vehicle theft. The feature allows owners to remotely immobilise their parked vehicle through the Bluelink app, preventing it from being restarted without authorisation.
Compatibility
The system is currently available on ccNC-equipped HX10 variants of the Venue and N10 variants of the Venue N Line. Importantly, eligible vehicles sold since November 2025 will receive the feature through a Controller Over-the-Air (C-OTA) update, eliminating the need for a workshop visit. From September 2026, it is also being offered as standard on the corresponding new variants.
How does it work?
There are two ways the immobiliser can be used. Owners can activate it proactively while the vehicle is parked. Alternatively, if theft is suspected after the vehicle has been parked without the feature being activated, the owner can trigger immobilisation directly from the Bluelink app. Once the vehicle is switched off, it cannot be restarted without authorisation.
Hyundai has also linked the system with live vehicle location tracking. When the vehicle is connected to the network, its location can be used by the owner and law enforcement authorities to aid recovery. However, the system does not shut down or immobilise a vehicle while it is moving, which is an important safety measure.
The feature uses Hyundai’s Software-Defined Vehicle architecture, which allows updates to be delivered remotely. Compatible ccNC-equipped vehicles can receive C-OTA updates across up to 19 vehicle controllers, potentially allowing Hyundai to introduce additional features without requiring physical intervention.
Hyundai says the Remote Immobiliser will eventually be introduced in phases on select existing Bluelink-equipped models and future connected vehicles.
