Tata Motors has released the first teaser of the upcoming Tigor compact sedan facelift. The new teaser has not only revealed the updated design, but also the new name of the Tigor facelift, which will now be called ‘Aeris’.
Tata Aeris: What do we know so far?
The new Aeris sedan will be essentially a facelift of the Tigor. The released teaser image shows that it will get a massive design revamp, featuring a similar set of LED headlights as the new Tiago facelift.
The Aeris sedan will boast a heavily reworked exterior design based on the Tigor. We expect it to offer a cleaner look with a new streamlined fascia, new grille, new dual-tone alloys, and a redesigned boot with an upright stance and new connected LED taillights.
Following a similar pattern to the Tiago facelift, the interior of the Aeris is also likely to feature a redesigned dashboard with the new floating infotainment screen and a floating digital driver cockpit. It will also pack the redesigned centre console, a new two-spoke steering wheel, new features like a wireless charging pad, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring, an upgraded sound system, and more.
Since the Aeris will be more of a mid-life update of the Tigor and not a new generation model, it is most likely to remain mechanically unaltered. This means that the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and the 1.2-litre CNG engine options will remain as they are. Both engines are offered with the 5-speed manual and an AMT gearbox, which are also likely to remain the same.
However, the possibility of Tata re-tuning the engines for improved efficiency and smoothness, and recalibrating the suspension for better comfort, can not be denied. With that said, the Aeris sedan will be launched on September 25, and shifting-gears will bring you all exclusive information. So, stay tuned.
