What do we know so far about the Norton Atlas?
Norton Motorcycles recently conducted the first media test ride of its upcoming flagship superbike, called Manx R. During the event, the brand also revealed that its first product for the Indian market will launch in the second half of this year, which is expected to be the Atlas ADV.
Since Norton Motorcycles was taken over by TVS Motor Company, the brand is hinting at Atlas ADV, which is an upcoming middleweight adventure bike that will be manufactured at the Hosur plant, based near Bengaluru. TVS will use a separate assembly line to manufacture the Atlas, while the BMW F 450 GS, a competitor to the Atlas, will also be manufactured alongside.
On the other hand, the Atlas is likely to be positioned a bit premium. We assume that it will be priced around Rs 5.50-6 lakh, considering it will be powered by a 585cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled motor, which could possibly churn out around 65-70 bhp. Norton will equip the Atlas with top-notch tech, including the TFT console, a six-axis IMU, adjustable suspension, tubeless spoke wheels, navigation support, cruise control, and more.
Atlas ADV is currently undergoing the road test phase. The bike is likely to be launched around Diwali festive season later this year.
