Volvo Car India has announced a price hike across its model range in India, effective May 1, 2026. The increase will go up to Rs 1 lakh, depending on the model.
This revision will apply across the brand’s entire portfolio, making it one of the latest automakers to adjust pricing in response to global pressures.
What’s driving the price increase?
Volvo says persistent supply chain disruptions and fluctuations in foreign exchange rates have forced its hand. These factors continue to impact input costs and overall business operations. The company describes this as a necessary adjustment to maintain its standards. In simple terms, Volvo wants to absorb only so much before passing some of the burden to customers. There is also a subtle hint that this may not be the last revision. If global conditions remain unstable, further price corrections could follow.
Impact across the lineup
The price hike will affect all models sold by Volvo in India. This includes its range of luxury SUVs and sedans, many of which are already positioned at a premium price point. For buyers, this means a narrow window to lock in current prices before May kicks in.
Volvo currently operates through 23 showrooms and 25 workshops across India. The brand has steadily expanded its footprint, covering major metros as well as emerging luxury markets.
