- 2027 Tata Nexon spied again
- Features an upright, boxier rear design
- Likely to offer more rear seat space
Tata has commenced the road test phase of the next-generation Nexon compact SUV. A latest sighting of a test mule shows that the new-gen Nexon will undergo a big design change, making it a more squared-off and boxier SUV, moving on from the current curvy design.
2027 Tata Nexon: What to expect?
As visible in the latest spy images, the camouflaged test car has a different silhouette than the current-gen Nexon. The upcoming model is likely to get a more boxier and squared-off design, especially at the rear profile.
The test mule has a flatter roofline that merges into a new rear quarter that has an upright stance and reworked greenhouse. This indicates that Tata will focus on the rear seat headroom and overall space on the new-gen Nexon.
The bodyline of the new-gen Nexon also looks reworked with a cleaner profile. The test car has flush door handles and a steeply raked front and rear windshield, which hint that the sporty outlook will also be retained on the new-gen model.
While the test car is still in its initial phase of development, the redesigned bodywork shows that the new-gen Nexon will become more spacious than the current model. Additionally, the reworked profile means that it will also get a new fascia, new lights, new bumpers, and a completely different look.
The interior is yet to be finalised, but the previous spy shots showcased a new four-spoke steering wheel. We are unsure about the interior details, as the new-gen Nexon is in the early stage of development. However, a safe bet is that the interior design will be completely overhauled with a new dashboard, a new steering wheel, new door cards, new seats, and more features like a triple-screen setup.
Mechanically, the new-gen Nexon will most likely remain unchanged. We believe that Tata will launch the new-gen Nexon by late 2027.
