Record sales of Suzuki Hayabusa, what makes it popular?
Suzuki has released the sales figures of its superbikes for the FY2026. The flagship superbike, Hayabusa, has recorded a new high in sales by selling 543 units.
Suzuki managed to sell 511 units of Hayabusa in FY2025, while FY2026 witnessed 543 units – a 6% jump in the Y-o-Y sales. The Hayabusa also remained the best-selling motorcycle in the 1,000-1,6000cc segment for the fourth consecutive year.
Interestingly, this number could have been bigger if the GST 2.0 rates had not come into effect. For example, Suzuki sold 324 units of the Hayabusa in the first half of FY2026, but this dropped by 32% as only 219 units were sold in the second half due to the new GST 2.0 rates coming into effect.
Moreover, the 1,000-1,600cc segment also saw a big jump of 22% in the FY2026 as compared to the FY2022. A total of 1,105 units were sold in this segment, which indicates that the flagship high-end motorcycle segment is on the rise in India.
