Ola Electric 4680 Bharat Cell EV details
The new 4680 Bharat Cell technology is a completely in-house-built battery by Ola. This technology eliminates the dependency on Chinese battery cell providers. Ola is producing the 4680 Bharat Cell batteries on its own, which gives it a superior edge over all other electric manufacturers in India.
The first vehicle to roll out with this technology is the S1 Pro electric scooter. While this in-house battery is far easier to build because of non-dependency, Ola has not revealed whether it is cheaper or not. Therefore, no price revisions have been made to the S1 Pro scooter with the Bharat Cell battery.
Ola plans to use the Bharat Cell technology on all products, including the upcoming EVs that include three-wheelers and cars. Meanwhile, Ola has recently reported a sight of relief for its investors as the brand has recovered from the previous quarter’s loss by a marginal amount.
Currently, Ola is the only manufacturer with this tech in India, but we hope that other manufacturers will start using in-house battery cells, which will help in easing the process flow.
