2026 Nissan Tekton: Everything we know so far
The latest spy images of the upcoming Tekton mid-size SUV come from a parking lot, which appears to be a hotel parking as per us. The test car seen here is completely camouflaged, and to hide its interior details, its windows are also covered.
However, the visible details reveal its exterior design partially. The front fascia gets sleek LED daytime running lights and headlamps, while the streamlined bumper and sleek grille look identical to the current Nissan Patrol.
Online reports claim that the new Tekton will take inspiration from the Patrol Y63 SUV, hence it will get the connected LED taillights and a streamlined overall outlook. Since it will be a rebadged Renault Duster, we do not expect any changes to its dimensions. However, it will get new alloy wheels and different colour palettes.
On the other hand, its cabin design will be mostly similar to the Duster. The only changes, as per us, could be the new cabin theme, Nissan badging, and a different user interface for the dual-screen setup. However, the latter could be just our assumption.
The feature list on the Tekton is also likely to be more or less the same as the Duster. We are expecting it to offer a panoramic sunroof, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging pad, digital driver console, dual-zone AC, rear AC vents and charging ports, electric tailgate, and Level 2 ADAS safety suite on the top variants.
Powering the Tekton will be the 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine making 160 bhp and 280 Nm. It will be offered with a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT gearbox. Meanwhile, the lower variants are likely to feature the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine sourced from the Nissan Magnite. It will be offered with a 6-speed MT and a CVT gearbox.
Following the same trail as Renault, Nissan will also introduce a 1.8-litre strong hybrid engine on the Tekton in the future. The official reveal of the Tekton in India will take place on July 9, 2026. We expect it to be priced in a similar ballpark as the Renault Duster.
