Upcoming Hero ADV bike spotted at a dealership: Impulse 160?

Key highlights

  • Unknown Hero ADV bike spotted
  • Likely to be an entry-level model positioned below Xpulse 210
  • Could be called the Impulse 160

Not long ago, Hero MotoCorp filed a design patent for an upcoming ADV dual-sport motorcycle. The sketches revealed a lightweight motorcycle that aimed for commuting and dual-sport riding. Now, this upcoming model’s production prototype has been spied at a dealership, which got leaked online recently.

Although the spy shot is not very clear, we can see the rear profile of this bike, which features an upright stance with slim bodywork. The rear tyre profile is also slim, indicating that this could be a sub-200cc motorcycle – most likely a 160cc.

The sculpted fuel tank has wide haunches, and the tubular handle is set upright for a commanding riding stance in the city. Overall, the bike looks sporty yet comfortable for everyday riding, which we think is what Hero might be aiming for with it.

Another interesting detail is its upswept exhaust can that has been positioned like a true ADV. This further adds to its practical aspect for occasional trail riding and the fun factor of its design.

While the spy shot could not show the close details, we can safely assume that it will feature a front beak, a long-travel telescopic front suspension, spoked rims with tube tyres, a scooped seat with split design, and luggage mounting points.

With Xpulse 210 already on sale, the purpose of this bike would be to offer a more ‘affordable’ entry point in the ADV segment for novice riders who want to hone their skills on trails and off-road. What could be better for it than a lightweight, slim ADV, right?

Some online rumours hint that Hero could call it the Impulse 160, which is suitable as this way the brand will be able to bring the Impulse brand back to the market. Additionally, the Impulse name aligns better with an ADV.

Since the spotted bike looks production-ready, its launch could be weeks away. As of now, we can assume that it will be launched towards the end of this year.
