Toyota Bharat has announced a massive price hike for the Camry sedan. The new Camry sedan will now cost up to Rs 1.27 lakh more than the outgoing prices. The company has announced that the new prices have come into effect immediately across all showrooms nationwide.
Speaking of the details, the Camry Elegant and Sprint dual-tone variants are now Rs 1.21 lakh more expensive than the outgoing prices. Meanwhile, the Elegant and Sprint Platinum White Pearl variants have become Rs 1.27 lakh more expensive than the outgoing prices.
With that said, the Camry sedan is now positioned at Rs 48.69-48.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Toyota launched the latest generation of the Camry sedan in India last year. The new model brought along a redesigned exterior and interior with the latest features like Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless phone charging, electric seats with ventilation, reclining rear seats, electric sunblinds, LED lights, etc.
Powering the Camry is a tried-and-tested 2.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated self-charging hybrid engine. This engine develops 184 bhp and 221 Nm in the petrol guise, while its electric powertrain adds 134 bhp and 208 Nm. The Camry is a front-wheel-drive sedan, and its powertrain is paired with an e-CVT automatic gearbox that comes with paddle shifters. Toyota claims that it can deliver up to 25.49 km/l of fuel economy, which places it among the most fuel-efficient cars on sale in India currently.
With that said, there is currently no direct competitor to the Toyota Camry in India. Only the Audi A4 and BMW 3-series are closely positioned in terms of price, which are still more expensive than it. The new prices of the Camry are now applicable nationwide.
