Kawasaki has introduced the new Z1100 in India, and it brings serious muscle and style to the premium naked segment. Priced at INR 12.79 lakh (ex-showroom, India), the bike aims to deliver both performance and presence.

Engine and Performance

At its heart lies a 1,099 cc inline-four, liquid-cooled engine that outputs around 136 PS and 113 Nm of torque. It pairs with a six-speed gearbox and an assist & slipper clutch for smoother downshifts. That sets the Z1100 up as a serious contender for riders who want more than just good looks.

Escalated Design & Premium Kit

The Z1100 carries Kawasaki’s famed Sugomi design DNA, sharp bodywork, an aggressive stance, twin-pod LED headlamps and a tucked tail section. Under the skin, it uses a twin-tube aluminium frame with premium Showa suspension and high-end brake components to match. The electronics suite is rich too: it features a five-axis IMU, ride modes, traction control, quick-shifter, cruise control and dual-channel ABS.

Where It Stands in the Market

At INR 12.79 lakh, the Z1100 enters a space where performance bikes are increasingly vying for attention. Its pricing is competitive against rivals in the litre-class naked category and offers Kawasaki’s “big Z” legacy with modern tech. Customers will need to decide if they want outright performance and premium kit over more budget-friendly alternatives.

What Riders Should Know

  • Firm ride quality: With high-end suspension and powerful engine, the Z1100 is built for spirited riding.
  • Premium ownership cost: Though performance is high, running costs, insurance and service may follow suit.
  • Exclusivity vs utility: If you want a standout naked bike with serious presence, the Z1100 delivers, but daily commuting might feel like you’re in a sports car in a school zone.
