Everything else remains the same

The F 450 GS continues to use a 420 cc, liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 48 bhp at 8,750 rpm and 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm. It is paired with a six-speed gearbox and gets a steel trellis frame, USD fork and monoshock suspension.

The motorcycle rides on a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel setup. While the standard variants use alloy wheels, the GS Trophy gets tubeless wire-spoke wheels. Features across the range include riding modes, cornering traction control, ABS and Dynamic Brake Control, with information displayed on a 6.5-inch TFT screen.

The range-topping GS Trophy remains the most comprehensively equipped version. It gets adjustable suspension, BMW’s Easy Ride Clutch system and additional equipment aimed at off-road riding. The Exclusive variant sits between the Base and Trophy versions with additional protection and off-road-oriented equipment.

The price hike comes at an interesting time for the F 450 GS. BMW had previously temporarily halted bookings in India after the initial allocation was booked out, with strong demand resulting in lengthy waiting periods in several cities.

Final thoughts

A Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 price increase is unlikely to change the F 450 GS’s core proposition, but it does make an already premium middleweight adventure motorcycle a little harder to justify on price alone.
