Honda Activa e: and QC1 scooters are a flop? Low sales!
Earlier this year, Honda showcased and launched its first-ever electric scooter models post Bharat Mobility Expo 2025. The Activa e: and the QC1 scooters were positioned as the entry-level pivots for the company’s electric two-wheelers in India.
However, within six months of the launch, Honda is reported to have halted their production. The reason? Poor sales. As per the data published by the Society of Indian Automotive Manufacturers, Honda manufactured a total of 11,168 units of both scooters between February 2025 to July 2025.
However, only 5,021 units of these scooters were dispatched to the dealers nationwide. These included 704 units of the Activa e: and the 4,461 units were of the QC1. The remaining scooters remain unsold and sit in the various Honda yards.
The reason behind the poor sales of these e-scooters is the fact that their price positioning was, in fac,t too high. The e-scooter market is price sensitive, and both models also lacked the availability of a portable charger, while being priced at a premium.
As far as their future is concerned, Honda is yet to officially unveil the future plans of its electric vehicles. While the brand had earlier hinted at more e-products coming to India soon, the slow sales of the Activa e: and QC1 is expected to change these plans.
