Skoda Octavia RS deliveries commenced
The Octavia RS sedan was launched earlier this month in India, with a price tag of Rs 49.99 lakh ex-showroom. The RS moniker has been brought to the Indian shores as a CBU model, hence it is priced steeply.
The Octavia RS is a popular sports sedan across the globe, known for its go-kart handling and aggressive performance. In India, the brand has brought only 100 units of it, which have already been sold out.
The changes on the RS include a sporty body kit with an RS grille, aerodynamic bumpers, RS-spec alloy wheels, and a boot-integrated spoiler for more downforce. On the inside, it gets all-black leather upholstery with Alcantara touch and red stitching, further improved with the aluminium pedals and RS badging on the seats and door sills.
The RS badge is not about looks, but performance. Hence, it is powered by a front-wheel drive, 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that makes 261 bhp and 370 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. It is paired with the 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox for quick acceleration and control.
Since all units of the Octavia RS were sold out within hours, Skoda is considering to bring more cars to India soon.
