Mahindra Vision S: Everything we know so far
The latest sighting of the upcoming Vision S test mule comes from Chennai. Based on the brand’s new NU_IQ platform, the Vision S is currently in its road testing phase. While Mahindra plans to introduce it next year, it will compete with the upcoming Renault Bridger SUV, which is also set for a global launch in 2027.
The test mule seen here is identical to the test mules spotted before. The Defender-ish outlook of the design is surely a head-turner, while the elements like the big 19-inch alloys, a tailgate-mounted spare tyre, chunky body line, flared wheel arches, and the vertical LED taillights all make it appear like a premium mini-Land Rover.
While the latest spy shots could not reveal the front and the interior, we can safely assume the key design elements by guessing through the earlier spy shots. The front fascia of the Vision S will get a new vertical grille with Thar Roxx-inspired LED headlamps. Meanwhile, the interior layout will get a vertical dashboard with unique AC vents and a floating infotainment screen with a digital driver console.
Mahindra is known to equip its SUVs with the latest features, and the Vision S will also offer a long list of features. These are likely to include a panoramic sunroof, voice-assisted controls, wireless phone charging, electric seat adjustment, ventilated seats, and more.
Under the bonnet, it will possibly feature two engine options initially. These will include a 1.5-litre 117 bhp three-cylinder turbo diesel, which is likely to be sourced from the Bolero Neo, but it will undergo a major rework. The other is likely to be the 1.2-litre three-cylinder TGDI turbo petrol sourced from the XUV 3XO. Both engine options will get manual and automatic gearbox choices.
Mahindra is expected to reveal the Vision S in production guise by mid-2027. It will be positioned between the Scorpio N and the Bolero Neo. Hence, it is expected to be priced around Rs 11-20 lakh.
