- Yamaha R15 V4 gets quickshifter in two colours
- Racing Blue and Matte Pearl White colours updated
- Rs 4,650 more expensive than the non-quickshifter variant
Yamaha has updated the R15 V4 sports bike with the addition of a quickshifter gearbox in two colour options. Customers can now purchase the Racing Blue and Matte Pearl White colour options with the quickshifter feature. The brand has priced the quickshifter variant Rs 4,650 more expensive than the non-quickshifter variant of the same colour.
With that said, the R15 V4 is now available with the quickshifter on the following colour options: Racing Blue (new), Matte Pearl White (new), and Intensity White. The quickshifter variants are priced at Rs 1,79,500 (ex-showroom). Meanwhile, the non-quickshifter variants of the same colours are priced at Rs 1,74,850 (ex-showroom).
By paying the extra amount, customers can add a factory-fitted quickshifter that allows for clutchless gear upshifts at higher RPM. This allows for quick performance, especially around corners. While a quickshifter might not be as useful as it may sound on the streets, it allows for quicker lap times around the track. Since the R15 V4 is more of a track-learning bike, a quickshifter from factory will allow new riders to clock quick times around the track while learning the basics of track riding.
The R15 V4 is powered by a 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that gets VVA technology. The latter allows for a strong power surge in the higher power band, thus allowing for fast performance around the tracks. Recently, Yamaha also launched the R2, which is a 200cc sibling of the R15 V4. The R2 packs more power and torque at Rs 2.04 lakh.
