What to expect from the first-ever Bajaj ADV bike?
The rapidly growing ADV bike segment has finally caught Bajaj’s attention. The brand has begun the road testing of its first-ever adventure bike, which was recently seen in Pune along with the Pulsar N250 and KTM ADV 250.
While not much is known about it, the first-ever spy shots reveal that it will get a dual-sport design. The side shot gives us a proper look at the bike, and we can also see the rider sitting comfortably with his hands positioned in a relaxed manner, while his legs are resting on the centre-set footpegs.
This riding triangle is typical of a long-distance tourer, while the raised beak at the front, a slim fuel tank, a single seat, and a rear luggage rack that is holding a top box, all elements hint at a mid-size ADV bike that can do trail runs as well as highway touring. On the other hand, it has spoke rims, likely with tube tyres, split LED taillights similar to the Pulsar N series models, and an upswept exhaust, which is likely to offer better off-road capabilities and handling.
Now we do not want to assume a lot until we get to see the bike closely, but the engine case visible in the spy shots hints at a single-cylinder unit, which could possibly be a 250-350cc powertrain. Moreover, the Pulsar N250 running along the test bike further hints at a similar capacity. Some rumours also hint at a KTM-sourced engine, which we can not comment on until Bajaj or sources reveal solid information.
With that said, we can safely assume that with the size of the bike, it will compete with the likes of Hero Xpulse 210 and KTM Adventure 250. Launch timeline is unknown for now, but we can expect more clarity on it in the coming months.
