Upcoming Nissan Tekton teaser released as ‘Baby Patrol’ SUV

Key highlights

  • Nissan Tekton’s latest teaser released
  • Shows alongside the Nissan Patrol
  • Tekton is expected to go on sale in the coming months

First scheduled to launch by March 2026, the upcoming Nissan Tekton mid-size SUV will look a lot like the flagship Nissan Patrol Y63. We are not saying this, but Nissan’s latest teaser of the Tekton shows the Patrol alongside, and the brand is already dubbing it as the ‘Baby Patrol’.

What to expect from the 2026 Nissan Tekton?

The Tekton is basically a badge-engineered version of the new Renault Duster. Nissan has already commenced its pre-bookings, and the Tekton will be launched soon.

As visible in the teaser image, the front fascia of the Tekton looks a lot identical to the latest Patrol SUV. Mind you, Nissan is already in the process of bringing the Patrol to the Indian market soon, and it remains Nissan’s most popular SUV in the global market, especially in the Middle East.

The front design of the Tekton gets the inverted L-shaped LED daytime running lights wrapped around the LED headlamps. These lights are connected by an LED light band placed above the front grille with a red highlight. The lower portion of the bumper is not completely visible, but we can see the LED foglights partially.

The earlier teaser images have already given us a glimpse of the sharp connected LED taillights and a more streamlined design of the rear as compared to the Renault Duster. Nissan engineers have tuned the Tekton to look more subtle and upmarket, as opposed to the ruggedness of the Duster.

However, the major difference between these two sibling SUVs will be mostly cosmetic. The cabin of the Tekton will be more or less similar to the Duster, save for the new cabin theme, different graphics for the digital screens, and Nissan branding.

Mechanically, the Tekton will remain similar to the Duster. It will be initially offered with a 1.0-litre turbo petrol and a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine option. In a later stage, Nissan will bring a 1.8-litre self-charging strong hybrid engine option.
